About Me

I was born in San Antonio at Santa Rosa Hospital in 1947 and have never left the area.  I attended Woodlawn Hills Elementary up till midway of the 6th grade and then we moved and I finished the 6th grade at Ridgeview Elementary.  In 7th grade I  went to Robert E Lee Junior High (the last year of the junior high at Lee).  I went to Nimitz in the 8th and 9th grades, then back to Lee.  I was in the Lee-ettes in my sophomore and junior years of high school.  I graduated in 1966 on the football field at Northeast Stadum.

As a teenager I worked 3 summers at Robert B Green Hospital, which was the county hospital at that time.  That made me realize I could never become a nurse.

I worked for many years in the accounting field.  I loved the challenge of balancing those numbers.  At my first job I had a 100 key adding machines (no calculators yet)  and I made $250 a month.  I stopped working in January 2005 for medical reasons and have never been able to return to work.  My first car was a 1967 Opel purchased brand new for $1700 that I bought at the dealership where I worked and gas was 22 cents a gallon.

I have one son born in June of 1973 that was in the first class to graduate from Taft High School after attending all four years at Taft.

On 9/11/00, I became a widow after 13 years of marriage.  My spouse retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service in 1989.  I will never remarry because I want to keep my military medical benefits.

Donations

Someone asked if they have to make a donation, so I would like to clarify donations.  This website is free and open to everyone.  The only requirement is that they have attended Lee or one of the secondary schools.  By receiving donations, it allow me be able to pay website expenses, postage, purchase new equipment and keep the website going.

The reason I ask for donations is that I live on my Social Security that I draw as a widow and a small Survivor Benefit check.  Due to health issues I left the work force before I could draw social security and had to live on my investments and 401K.  It was not like I never planned ahead, but because of unforeseen circumstances this is now my situation.

I still feel blessed and have a good life and have not told this for sympathy or charity.  It is the facts.

This website has been created to reunite old friends and bring back good memories.  In my years at Lee we had very strong school spirit and were proud to be at Lee.  If you see a rebel flag on this website it was the school spirit for a lot of classes and not as any other meaning.  This site is not intended to cause pain and suffering or emotional distress.  It is not intended to make one feel old, even though some of us are older than dirt.  (Better than the alternative)
